Moorelands teaches kids from low-income, Toronto neighbourhoods, the 21 Century skills they need to be outstanding leaders and engaged citizens. Our fun, ‘intentional’ programs promote: 1) physical activity; 2) life skills development; 3) character development; 4) cultural competence; 5) tolerance and appreciation for diversity; 6) connections with peers, role models and community. Moorelands provides critically acclaimed, evidence-based programs for children and youth living in some of Toronto’s poorest neighbourhoods. Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation is proud to partner with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment again to build a second primary school in Jamaica. In 2013, 40 staff members from MLSE donated their time and money to build a school in St. Elizabeth and build a better future for the children and families of that parish. This year, the team has doubled to 75 volunteers who will donate their time to build a school in Montego Bay. Thanks again to our friends at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. We look forward to seeing old faces and meeting some new on this return trip to Jamaica!
