Virtually every construction project done these days has some impact on the public and it’s watching what’s taking place. Whether it’s a school, a commercial building, a medical center or some other project, people are watching and following on social media. They’re also making comments on social media about the work of your company and your employees. Workers saying embarrassing things about the company on social media simply can’t be tolerated today because there are too many people watching and too much is on the line. If construction companies are truly concerned about their corporate brand and reputation they should have a social media policy to try to ensure embarrassing things don’t happen to them and if they do there are consequences.

Supporting Quality of Life and Well being It is a known fact that the number of affordable assisted living and supportive housing communities in Alberta is greatly insufficient. The result is that many individuals needs are not adequately being met leaving them unable to live the quality of life that they deserve. Innovative Housing Society is making great strides in increasing the supply of these much needed facilities which will help to provide solutions and opportunities to those in need. Innovative Housing Society is a not for profit, designated charity that was founded and formed in 1972 by a dynamic group of individuals with a variety of different disabilities. The focus was to make a vast improvement on accessible housing within the community with a prairie village concept in mind. Through the collaboration of strengths, knowledge and experiences of our residents and staff and a common belief in helping others in need IHS is and continues to be at the forefront of assisted living. IHS offers affordable and accessible housing with supported independence for a variety of assisted living needs including: Aging in place for seniors Persons with disabilities Dementia Care We also hope to one day offer a safe and secure home for women and children in need. We believe in keeping families together by providing our residents and their families the support and encouragement that they need in order to achieve their personal goals and become active members in our community and in society as a large. Our friendly team of employees provides quality and professional services for clients and is dedicated to their care and well being.

The Community Planning Association of Alberta is an organization dedicated to the promotion of community planning in the Province of Alberta. Through various means, the Association provides a forum for the discussion of community planning-related concepts, ideas and issues with a view towards solutions The Association is a volunteer-based organization, comprised of members from diverse backgrounds and interests. The diversity of membership provides unique opportunities for the organization’s membership in terms of exploring various aspects of community planning. History The Community Planning Association of Canada (CPAC) was formed in the 1950’s by Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation - the federal housing authority. The purpose of the Association was to promote interest in community development across Canada with citizen involvement in the design and planning of their communities. The operation of the Association was funded by grants from Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation to provincial chapters. Membership was in the thousands with up to 3, 000 delegates attending national conferences held in various cities across Canada. In 1979, the Board of Directors decided that the Alberta Chapter should not continue under the misnomer of Community Planning Association of Canada. Phil Elder, who was on the Alberta Chapter’s Board of Directors, a professor of environmental design at the University of Calgary and also a lawyer, drafted a constitution for the incorporation of the Community Planning Association of Alberta (CPAA) under the Alberta Societies Act as a non-profit, non-professional association. CPAA is, today, the only surviving Provincial association from the original Community Planning Association of Canada.
