Société francophone de Maillardville, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1983. Its main purpose lies in the guidance and support of its association members and the eleven Francophone organizations, all of which developed into a community and cultural environment. Its role is to provide services and activities to the French-speaking region of Maillardville, Coquitlam and throughout the Lower Mainland which has about thirteen thousand Francophones.
