ABOUT TEH The Toronto Equine Hospital was founded July of 1996 by Dr. Darryl Bonder and Dr. Peter Vatcher. Bonder had started his career in equine medicine and surgery at Humber College, becoming a partner in the Humber Equine Surgery. This facility operated out of Humber College as part of the Equine Studies program which was offered at that time. Vatcher joined Dr. Bonder upon graduation in 1985. The veterinarians had a teaching responsibility to the students and also ran continuing education classes in the evenings. In 1995, the college decided to no longer offer an Equine Studies curriculum. Bonder and Vatcher were forced to look for another location to house the practice and to enable them to pursue their love of . A suitable building was found one minute off the grounds of Woodbine Racetrack. The building was purchased, completely gutted and had a barn addition added on. houses office space, a library / board room, operating theatre, 2 drop and recovery stalls, a nuclear medicine suite, a procedures room and barn capable of housing 7 horses. In addition, an in house laboratory is available along with regenerative therapy equipment. Our goal is to provide high quality, innovative, and compassionate care in equine medicine and surgery.
