Junior Achievement (JA) is the world’s largest not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating young people about business. With over 120 charters world wide, JA brings a global view of business to local communities. Since 1963 Junior Achievement of Manitoba (JAMB) has partnered with educators, donors and volunteers to bring a real world experience into the classroom. Our programs give students in grades 3-12 the confidence and skills they need to become the next generation of business and community leaders. In 1963 Junior Achievement of Manitoba was introduced to Winnipeg, Manitoba by four businessmen entrepreneurs J. Shore, D. A Pollard, N. Alexander and F. P. Heffelfinger. In 1979, the province granted a franchise to Junior Achievement of Manitoba Inc. Junior Achievement of Manitoba offers five business education programs, delivered at no cost to elementary, middle and high school students (grades 3 - 12). More than 150 schools throughout Manitoba participate in JA every year. Delivered by local volunteers, JA programs enable young people to develop essential life skills through exposure to interactive activities and innovative business solutions. RURAL MANITOBA In partnership with Government of Manitoba. The Department of Children and Youth Opportunities allows us to reach 3000 students in various Manitoba rural communities. Regardless of a student's location in Manitoba, they all have the opportunity to participate in Junior Achievement programs. Manitoba Hydro provides funding to have a locally placed Program Manager in Thompson. Programs in the north enable us to reach over 2000 students each year.

Tuxedo Tennis Club is a non-profit, public club that promotes fitness, recreation, community, and the sport of tennis for everyone. The club is run by a volunteer executive with students and a tennis pro. We have 6 courts, and many activities and programs to choose from, regardless of your age or skill level. If the member does not use a guest pass, guests are required to pay a $10.00 court fee. Non members can play if they pay a $10.00 court fee. All guests fees will be tracked and can be applied towards a membership. Club membership application form Club History The Town of Tuxedo originally built Tuxedo Tennis Club with 4 shale courts. Before Tuxedo was amalgamated into the City of Winnipeg, the town enhanced the club by adding lights to courts 1 through 4, and added courts 5 and 6. Over the years, with grant assistance from the City of Winnipeg and Manitoba Government, we have resurfaced and painted the courts, replaced our clubhouse, built a deck, added fences, moved the practice board, paved the walkway and practice area, added permanent benches, acquired and finally fixed our ball-machine (aka "the cannon"). We have endeavored to run the club as open, friendly and inclusive. Constitution and By-Laws The Constitution and By-Laws of the Tuxedo Tennis Club contain instructions for the administration and financial management of the Club. We encourage our members to be familiar with these organizational details and have made them available for review. Tuxedo Tennis Club Constitution and By-Laws.
