The Manitoba Geothermal Energy Alliance (MGEA) is a not-for-profit multi-stakeholder membership based organization founded in January 2006, helping to advance the geothermal industry in Manitoba - our current president is Brent Laufer. We are Manitoba’s leading consortium of industry stakeholders, bringing together consumers and the government with geothermal installers, loop installers, professionals, manufacturers and distributors. We express interests for a clean sustainable energy source, high industry standards, assurance and public protection through our permitting system. The MGEA recognizes that there are many opportunities for the industry, but this growth should be done with diligence. We plan to be instrumental in fostering industry quality assurance, being an advocate for comprehensive industry training, standards and consumer protection. 'MEVA' is a not-for-profit, member-driven and governed group of Electric Vehicle (EV) Enthusiasts, Engineers, and Environmentalists. Some of our members started meeting as early as May 2009. However we started as an organization as of November 26, 2010 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. We encourage and assist vehicle conversions from gasoline or diesel to electric. We encourage purchase and use of factory-made vehicles. We will supply knowledgeable MEVA Members for media interviews and reactions.
