In preparation, the Aboriginal Community Campus (ACC) students were visited by Elder Hector Pierre as he sat down with students and gave them teachings on sacred medicines such as Sage, Sweet Grass, Cedar and Tobacco. Lessons were covered on the traditional symbolism for each sacred medicine, as well as their uses for treatment of various illnesses. Later on, students went downstairs to retrieve their plants that they had grown in the Learning Garden.
