For 20 years, Mio Manz Charities has been fulfilling dreams within the Windsor community for some very special children who have either a life threatening illness or severe disabilities. Since its inception in 1992, Mio Manz Charities’ Annual Celebrity Golf Benefits have provided some much needed funds to local deserving kids by dedicating, for the most part, our proceeds to the Sunshine Foundation of Canada while supporting several other local charities. In 2000, founders David Batten and Eddie Mio started a Mio Manz Endowment Fund with the goal of reaching $1 million in ten years. That goal was quietly achieved in 2010 and the endowment continues to grow. This memorable milestone coined the phrase that truly exemplifies the driving force behind the charity: There are “One Million Reasons Why!”

The Safety Village is a not-for-profit community organization that is the recognized leader in providing safety and injury-prevention education programs to residents of Windsor-Essex. Annually, The Safety Village provides onsite safety education programs to as many as 10, 000 elementary school children, and our numbers are growing. Since opening our doors, we have provided safety programs to more than 87, 000 local school children, a figure that does not include the thousands of children and families who attend the numerous programs and events we offer both on and off site.
