In 2009, we (Nick and Lisa) felt that God was moving us to Vancouver to plant a church. For several years previous, we had served as leaders in a church in Victoria with a strong church planting culture. So, when Nick got head-hunted for a job in Vancouver, it was already self-evident that we would be church planting. But Vancouver was a big place and for people unfamiliar with the city, finding out where God was moving us wasn’t the easiest thing to do. Growing up and working on “The Island”, Vancouver was only known to us as urban sprawl, a series of shopping malls, freeways, traffic jams and suburbs. We were wrong of course but also intimidated. How would we know where to go? Where would we end up? We looked high and low – Burnaby, New Westminister, Surrey, Downtown, the North Shore. We spent many weeks searching MLS and mining the internet for clues and inspiration. What a surprise and a delight when God planted us in West Vancouver. Through a series of God events, we bought a home in Caulfeild and moved in December 2009, just before the Olympic Games. Customers express their love and appreciation for the warm, inviting, and passionate community at Revolution Church. They praise the vibrant worship and prayer experiences.
