The Greater Vernon Museum and Archives gift shop carries an extensive line of books on local history (including current and back issues of the Okanagan Historical Society reports) natural history, and First Nations history; unique jewellery items, and hand thrown pottery by Vernon potter, Bob Kingsmill. The shop also carries limited edition wildlife prints by Major Allan Brooks. These prints have been faithfully reproduced from originals in the museum's collection. The Greater Vernon Museum & Archives is a small but informative museum filled with well-preserved works of art and local history. Visitors have praised the knowledgeable staff and the interesting displays, which cover various aspects of the city's history from immigrants and First Nations artifacts to local businesses and war detachments. The entry fee is reasonable, and the museum is a great way to spend a few hours learning about local history. Recommended for both tourists and locals.

Notably, there are axolotls, shadow rooms, stations upstairs, and a star dome. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the centre is well-organized and clean. Affordable and worth the trip, it provides a great space for learning and exploration.
