In 1997, West Island Crusade against Cancer was born, but as an event called Jimbo’s Squash-a-thon. One man playing squash for 8 hours against all comers who were willing to make a donation. No one dreamed then how this event would grow. 1999. Jimbo’s Squash-a-thon becomes a registered charity under the name West Island Crusade against Cancer (WICAC). Our first president, Paula Hassani and her husband Ferri were primarily responsible for the establishment of the registered charity status and for the recruitment of the many volunteers who have helped support WICAC over the years.
