The mission of WISH is to improve the health, safety and well-being of women who are involved in Vancouver’s street-based sex trade. The vision of WISH is that every woman should have access to opportunities to make free, healthy and positive choices. In 1984, WISH began as a Drop-In Centre for young men and women at St. Michael’s Anglican Church. In 1986, after a 3-month closure, it reopened for women only.

The Burnaby Safe House is a second-stage shelter for abused women and for vulnerable pregnant women. We are a non-profit charity serving the vulnerable in our community. All peer counselling services are provided for free of charge – a gift from individuals and the church community to those in need.
