The purpose of Marpole Oakridge Family Place is to promote and facilitate the wellbeing of families. We provide a welcoming, supportive and relaxing environment in which parents, caregivers and children can meet to socialize, play and learn. Marpole Oakridge Family Place began 35 years ago in a private living room. From there it moved to a small room at Marpole Oakridge Community Centre where it was operated twice a week by volunteers who relied on donations. Today Marpole Oakridge Family Place occupies its own expansive premises in the heritage building that used to be the old Marpole Fire house on Hudson and West 70th Avenue.
