In 2001, the OSCAR project was started by the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University (in Hamilton, ON, Canada) with the objective of producing a state of the art web-based EMR to support diverse academic and clinical functions. Since 2001 OSCAR has been implemented in large and small clinics across the country with users Canada-wide. In 2012 a not-for-profit entity called "OSCAR-EMR" was incorporated, which will oversee ongoing development, Ontario provincial certification and quality management processes and continue the task of centrally maintaining the code base.

The Looking Glass Foundation story began in 2002. At that time, there was little available in the way of appropriate, accessible care for young people with eating disorders. Community programs were overburdened, hospital admissions entailed long wait lists, and families seeking residential care were forced to find it outside of Canada at tremendous expense and personal sacrifice. With a passion only those touched by the illness can know, a small group of parents joined forces to create the Looking Glass Foundation for Eating Disorders — a charity dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of eating disorders, improving access to care, and responding to the desperate need for new programs and services. Since then, the Looking Glass Foundation has helped nearly a thousand individuals and families affected by this devastating disease.

Geoscience BC is a non-profit organization that receives funding from the provincial government. Our mandate is to attract mineral and oil & gas investment to British Columbia through generating, interpreting and publicly distributing geoscience data in partnership with First Nations, communities, governments and industry. Geoscience BC started in April 2005 with a $25 million investment from the Province of British Columbia. The organization received an additional $11.7 million in 2008 to support mineral geoscience in Mountain Pine Beetle-affected areas and oil & gas geoscience in frontier areas of the province. In May 2011, Geoscience BC received $12 million from the Province to continue mineral and energy geoscience initiatives in British Columbia.

Pacifica uses a comprehensive, client-responsive approach that works with the individual's sense of self in terms of thoughts, feelings, physical health, family and community. At Pacifica Treatment Centre, we have worked with over 10, 000 clients since our inception in 1977. It has become increasingly apparent over the years that many clients require services that help them make the transition into and out of intensive therapy. For some individuals, this kind of assistance can mean the difference between long-term success in recovery or chronic relapses in to their addiction.
