Every woman has a leading role in her own unfolding life story. Through many years spent in fitness & dance facilities, I have heard hundreds of personal stories and realize that there are a multitude of reasons “why” women attend “class”. Some women attend when they are inspired to express inner joy and their love of dance; others when they find themselves to be in a situation which they need to understand or change. Whatever the case, it seems to me that women attend “class” in order to see themselves reflected in one another’s experience. Belly dance is a way for women to better understand themselves as it is both physically and emotionally moving. This is my personal experience of this magical, mythical, middle-eastern dance and the primary motivator for the creation of the HiP KiK Belly Dance and Fitness Studio. When a woman senses that there is a mythical dimension to something she is undertaking, that knowledge touches and inspires deep creative centres within her.
