Resource Centre for the Arts is the umbrella organization for; RCA Theatre Company (RCAT), and the LSPU Hall.”The Hall” is a hot spot of cultural activity. It produces and creates indigenous artistic works. The Hall also provides space for artists, and many other groups and individuals, through its rental program. Our Main Stage Theatre and Second Space are booked for dance festivals, awards events, sound symposia, film festivals, live web-casts, CD launches, readings, concerts, plays, workshops, children’s theatre, and forums for discussing cultural values. The Resource Centre for the Arts is just that – a resource centre for our province’s artists. Many of the individuals RCA has supported over the years have gone on to become international ambassadors for the arts and culture of Canada as well as Newfoundland and Labrador – artists such as Mary Walsh, Gordon Pinsent, Rick Mercer, Andy Jones, Cathy Jones, Tommy Sexton, Berni Stapleton, Ed Riche, Ron Hynes, and Bob Joy – to name a few. The list of those fostered through the existence of RCA goes on, and our goal is to add many names to it for years to come.
