Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle is a church currently located at 565 Kenmount Road, St. John’s in our new church building which opened in April 2008. Elim traces its roots to the Pentecostal Revival that began in St. John’s nearly a century ago – on Easter Sunday, 1911. We are part of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador – a fellowship of 130 churches throughout the province. Our sister fellowship, the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, is comprised of 1, 000 churches. The Pentecostal denomination has flourished in this century – and now numbers half a billion around the world – who are filled with the Spirit of God, and who have become a major force in Christendom.
Customers express deep affection for the atmosphere, acoustics, and the welcoming community at Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle. They praise the wonderful people, with special mention of Pastor Jason Martin's kindness and support during difficult times.

Saint Maurice was brought up in the region of Thebes (Luxor — Egypt) and became a soldier in the Roman army. He was gradually promoted until he became the leader of the Theban legion, formed of 6600 soldiers. This legion was sent, upon the order of the Emperor Maximian, to resist a revolt of the Gauls at the western borders of the Roman Empire. After the revolt was quelled, the Emperor Maximian issued an order that the whole army should offer sacrifices to the Roman gods for the success of their mission. Saint Maurice and his soldiers were asked to share in this action, but they refused and declared their faith in Jesus Christ.
