When I decided in 2015 to leave the world of conventional work in favour of making mosaics full time, a friend texted "Great to see you stepping into where your head has lived for far longer." WowFactor Mosaics is the coming together of a lifetime of making art, a love of the materials of mosaic, and my degrees in interior design and art history. Glass, stone, tile and found objects - some new, some repurposed, some picked up in unlikely places - often inspire the outcome themselves (see Strata - glass and salvaged beach glass piece on Gallery Page). The first project I completed was my bathroom wall and vanity countertop...the wall a spontaneous floral explosion, the counter a more peaceful curvilinear rock stream. Without exception, everyone who saw it said "Wow!", followed by some further comment or question. After hearing the same response several times over, I realized this new endeavour already had a name, and WowFactor Mosaics was born. Customers highly praise the meticulous and detail-oriented work of Carol at Wow Factor Mosaics, with a focus on personalized mosaic art for residential homes. They commend Carol's creativity, ability to incorporate personal items, and positive teaching style in workshops. The end results are described as stunning, unique, and conversation-worthy pieces. Installation is completed in a timely manner and the experience is enjoyable and inspirational.
