The Greta Leeming Studio of Dance is a centre of dance excellence. Established in 1962, our first classes were held in the basement of then owner/director, Greta Robinson's home, with only 30 students, teaching only ballet. Enrollment soared to 300 students in just 6 months, and the studio moved to Merivale and Kirkwood. As GLS built its reputation as a premier dance school and continued to grow, the studio moved to its current location in 1973, now teaching all forms of dance. In 2011, Mrs. Robinson hung up her pointe shoes and handed the reins over to Tami-Lynn Caloia, who had been at the studio for 20 years as a teacher. In 2011, Tami-Lynn further expanded the studio, to meet the demands of enrollment. GLS has helped thousands of young dancers reach their full potential, with some moving on to become professional entertainers, as well as dance education professionals. Our teachers and choreographers are highly qualified professionals, who are committed to providing every student, of any skill level, with quality training, in a positive environment. After 27 years and great success, Ecole de Danse Louise is once again offering a greater variety of classes for the 2014-2015 dance season. The classes are offered in French for a variety of age groups ranging in age from 3 years and up. Classes start in September and run until May with the season end recital. Each class prepares a number for the year end recital except for those in intensive classes. Classes are held at Ecole de Danse Louise studio located at 1344 Youville Drive, Unit 2, Ottawa, Ontario (in the same building as Prestige Furniture). Also, in the dance studio located in Garneau High School located at 6588 rue Carriere in Orleans. We are proud to offer you an experienced and highly qualified faculty. We are affiliated with the B. T., an internationally recognized syllabus and A. A. T.; a Canadian syllabus recognized for its high standard. We insist on teaching a higher standard of dance in all classes at Ecole de Danse Louise while promoting a positive atmosphere. Fundraising is organised to help lower the cost of costumes which can range between $80-$100 plus tax per costume. Participation in fundraising is not mandatory. Points accumulated thru fundraising are directly put towards the cost of the student(s) costume. École De Danse Louise is a highly-regarded dancing school with exceptional teachers who provide top-notch dance training. The environment fosters personal and social growth, encouraging teamwork and camaraderie among students. The studio offers various programs catering to all ages and skill levels.
