NAMS is an independent charity that exists solely to support the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. NAMS was incorporated on March 23, 1978. Its purposes are to promote, foster and encourage safe, sufficient and permanent quarters for the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and to offer assistance to the Museum in achieving its goals.

The Museum engages visitors with the wonder of flight through its spectacular collection, educational programming, activities, and special events. The Museum focuses on aviation in Canada, but within an international context, from its beginnings in 1909 to the present day. As Canada’s contribution to aviation expanded to include aerospace technology, the Museum’s collection and mandate grew to include space flight. The Collection itself consists of more than 130 aircraft and artifacts (propellers, engines) from both civil and military service. It gives particular, but not exclusive, reference to Canadian achievements. The most extensive aviation collection in Canada, it is also considered one of the finest in the world. Care and development of this collection remains one of the Museum’s main purposes. The Museum practises conservation and restoration techniques to keep the collection in a condition equal to the highest standards. Sharing the collection is the Museum’s other purpose and is accomplished via: exhibitions, tours, and visits library, archives, and image bank educational programming and daily activities research papers, photo essays, and aircraft histories birthday parties, and special events As a national museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum enjoys both a national and an international reputation and following. It is one of three museums within the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation . When Ottawa closed its Lowertown cemeteries (Barracks Hill Cemetery: 1788-1844, and Sandy Hill Cemetery: 1844-1872), His Excellency Joseph Eugène Guigues, 1st Bishop of Ottawa (1848), purchased 50 acres of land from Mr. Bradley for the interment of Catholics. This land became known as Notre-Dame Cemetery. It is Ottawa's oldest and largest Catholic Cemetery. Under the direction of Canon Georges Bouillon, a notable diocesan priest-architect, the plans for the new cemetery began to take shape on October 2, 1870. Work continued in 1871, and on May 1st, 1872, the grounds were consecrated by Bishop Guigues in the presence of 8, 000 faithful, and the cemetery was officially opened.

The Muséoparc Vanier Museopark is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, preservation and dissemination of both the tangible and intangible heritage of the Quartier Vanier, Richelieu Park and the French-speaking population of Ottawa, for the present as well as future generations. It is the only francophone museum in Ottawa and one of the rare Canadian museums outside of Quebec dedicated to the French-speaking community.

President and owner Rick Kumar, grew up in a entrepreneurial family environment actively involved in the craft industry. He felt many of the finer items in the craft market were quite expensive for the North American economy. There were items which many households would not purchase due to these high costs. Rick's idea was to get these products made in larger volumes, thereby decreasing the costs. By slightly changing, enhancing, improving, and streamlining the design, production and distribution methods of these fine craft items, his plan was to get all pricing down to levels that all household incomes could enjoy. Thus, Multicraft Imports was born, creating and sourcing the latest Arts, Crafts, Scrapbooking, and Home DĂ©cor trends, at prices everybody could smile at.
