Royale Equestrian Centre are the only stable in Ottawa offering direct access to a major public transit station. We are located right across the street from the Fallowfield Bus Station/Via Rail and just down the street from Algonquin College; so this means you can walk, bike, bus, or drive to get to us! Our goal is to offer happy, quality, well trained horses, and to provide horse owners/riders with a fun, safe, educational place to ride, where we will treat your horse as one of our own. Our primary focus has been in dressage and eventing however we have also enjoyed much success in the hunter and jumper rings and we welcome riders of all ages, levels. We also specialize in developing young horses and off track thoroughbreds and run a very small breeding program with the goal of producing talented thoroughbreds and thoroughbred crosses. We have a wonderful mix of junior riders, adults and teens. Some ride for recreation others are competitive. The one thing we all have in common is that we are are here to enjoy the horses, we are passionate about horsemanship and want to continue learning and have a good time. All levels and ages of abilities are welcome and we are very blessed to have an outstanding support team and great social network. We offer many fun educational sessions and social gatherings for our riders. Each month planning something to appeal to each of our groups from recreational adult riders to, teens who want to pursue a career in the equine industry. For the younger Jr riders we have the Barrhaven Pony Club. For Teen's and Adults we run special sessions such as yoga on horseback, musical ride, clinics and theory sessions, and fun get togethers or outings. 
Royale Equestrian Centre is highly regarded for its knowledgeable and friendly staff who provide effective lessons for both children and adults. Surrounded by the city, this internationally acclaimed centre for agricultural research is a lush oasis of grain-filled fields, barnyard animals, and spectacular gardens. The Central Experimental Farm is an agricultural facility and a working farm located in the heart of Ottawa. It is a national historic site and a cultural heritage landscape. The history of the Friends of the Farm is one of dedicated volunteers working to maintain and enhance the public areas of the Central Experimental Farm. The first meeting was held in May 1988. Those who worked together to establish the Friends of the Farm believed that such a voluntary organization, concerned about retention of the public areas of The Farm for heritage reasons and public enjoyment, could make a major contribution to The Farm’s future. Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada (AAFC) provides office space for the Friends of the Farm in Building 72, adjacent to the Arboretum. We share this building with Arboretum staff and work closely with them, as well as with the Department’s Ornamental Gardens staff, on a variety of projects.
