Defence First is dedicated to shaping young talent and helping players reach their full potential, whether advancing to higher levels of play or paving the path to professional hockey. Our mission is to teach the thinking side of hockey, empowering players to take control of the game. Why simply react to the opposition when you can dictate the play? By mastering body and stick placement, players learn to influence every situation, making their game more efficient and strategic. "DON'T JUST PLAY THE GAME; THINK THE GAME." Our camps focus on essential skills like structured skating, mastering game scenarios, and generating offense from the backend. With the addition of new specialized focus camps, we now offer even more opportunities to customize your player's experience. Whether refining physical play, improving balance and stance, or enhancing decision-making under pressure, Defence First provides players with the tools to excel.

In the right environment, hockey is a game that kids can enjoy, and learn valuable lessons from. With the right approach, hockey is a field in which kids can pursue their dreams, or use as a stepping stone to realizing others. At Ivy Hockey Academy, we believe there is a right way for kids to experience hockey, and a smart way to teach it. We are guided by the Ivy L.E.A.F. schema: Learn-Enjoy-Aspire-Fulfill. When kids are learning, and enjoying what they’re doing, positive cycles are set in motion.

The Coaching staff did an awesome job on creating a team and they pushed the boys to do their best and to play as a team. Most importantly the boys were treated with respect and as a parent that made us feel so comfortable. What an experience both my son Mason and I had. We met so many great families from other cities and will have friendships for life. I would strongly encourage anyone who is thinking of being apart of it, to do so. I played 14 seasons in the N.H.L. and have never been so nervous before a game, like I was for our boys in that final game.
