The British Columbia Aviation Museum Society is dedicated to preserving aircraft and artefacts. We collect, restore and display aircraft and artefacts related to the history of aviation in Canada, with emphasis on British Columbia aviation history. Volunteer Organization The museum is operated by dedicated volunteers. Volunteers devote their time and skills to creating and maintaining a dynamic museum for the education and enjoyment of the public. A Work in Progress! Museum activities include aircraft restorations to static or airworthy status, constructing engine displays, modeling aircraft, maintaining artefacts, books, pictures and videos representative of flight, and creating memorials to aviation and the people who made it happen. We have plans to expand the museum by adding more space, and naturally adding more displays. We invite you to visit and view our gift shop, Memorial Room, and aircraft and artifact collection. Browse the museum on your own, or have one of our tour guides show you around. Financial Support Financial support for the museum’s work comes from several sources. Assistance for the building was provided by the Government of British Columbia under Expo Legacy and GO-BC grants. The Land is provided by Transport Canada on a nominal cost lease. The municipality of North Saanich provides annual assistance by waiving property taxes. Several restorations and research projects are funded by the British Columbia Heritage Trust grants and from British Columbia Gaming Commission Casino revenue.
This museum showcases a great collection of aircraft with various histories, from war to civilian use. Visitors are assigned knowledgeable volunteers for guided tours. The indoor and outdoor displays are well-organized and interesting for all ages. The restoration area is a popular attraction. Volunteers are passionate about the museum and its collection, and tours are customized to visitors' interests. Interactive displays and simulators are available for children.

About Cusheon Lake Resort C usheon Lake Resort is a vacation getaway located on Cusheon Lake on Salt Spring Island off the coast of beautiful British Columbia in Canada. The resort is unique in that it occupies 4 acres at the very tip of a peninsula that juts out into the lake. This spectacular horseshoe of water frontage means that each of the cabins and chalets at the resort enjoys a direct view facing onto the lake. The trees around these little holiday residences add to the natural atmosphere and sense of privacy here. This resort is the only commercial accommodation available on Cusheon Lake and has been in operation for over 30 years. Because it serves as a water source for some of the island residents, everything about this lake is clean, green and quiet. No boat motors are allowed and although there are private homes around the lake, the entire western shore is uninhabited forest. About Salt Spring Island Salt Spring Island is the largest of the Southern Gulf Islands. It has a vibrant and diverse community and there is plenty to do and see. Ganges, the main town on Salt Spring Island, is always buzzing with action. A big weekly attraction is the Saturday Farmer’s Market. Not only are there art galleries, restaurants and a large marina full of boats of every description in Ganges but there are also the essentials: a supermarket, laundromat, pharmacy, gas stations, and anything else you might need. Ganges is about 10 minutes by car from Cusheon Lake Resort.

Ocean EcoVentures started running whale watching tours in 2003 and has been creating “Life Experiences” ever since! We have taken thousands of passengers out to experience our diverse marine ecosystem that we call home. There is always a highlight on each trip that you will take away and never forget. We are a small owner-operated family business that strives to make your adventure the best possible. You don’t get this kind of personal attention from the larger whale watching companies. Having fewer passengers in our boat creates magical moments and many passengers leave like old friends after their tour.
Customers highly praise Ocean EcoVentures for exceptional whale watching tours. Knowledgeable and passionate guides lead personalized experiences, providing in-depth information about various whale species, including Orcas and Humpbacks. The scenic tours offer the chance to witness the whales in their natural habitat, often resulting in lifelong memories. Communication and organization are also highly regarded.
