Big Sisters of North Bay and District was founded in July 1975 by the North Bay Women's Centre. The agency had conducted a Needs Assessment which determined a gap in service to women and girls in the North Bay area. From 1975--2008 the agency provided programs and services to local girls and young women. Programs included the traditional matching program, Sister Angel, Go Girls!, Victims Assistance workshops, Child Safety training, In School Mentoring and Youth Opportunities Program.
