Description
As Canada’s leading child and youth mentoring charity, Big Brothers Big Sisters facilitates life-changing relationships that inspire and empower children and youth to reach their potential, both as individuals and citizens. Big Sisters of North Bay and District was founded in July 1975 by the North Bay Women's Centre. The agency had conducted a Needs Assessment which determined a gap in service to women and girls in the North Bay area. From 1975--2008 the agency provided programs and services to local girls and young women. Programs included the traditional matching program, Sister Angel, Go Girls!, Victims Assistance workshops, Child Safety training, In School Mentoring and Youth Opportunities Program.
