The Dog Rescuers Inc. Is a non-profit organization based in Oakville, Ontario. We are run by a group of dedicated volunteers with a passion for rescuing and re-homing all breeds of dogs. Oakville rescuer Joan has more than 20 years of rescue experience, and after meeting Oakville Fire Fighter, Mano, the two created The Dog Rescuers Inc. in 2009. Joan took on the role of President and shortly after TDRI was founded, recruited Vanessa, who has years of animal experience to take on the role of Vice President. Joan and Vanessa maintain varied roles, from administration and fundraising, to the grass roots of meeting every dog that comes into the program, and overseeing adoptions. Mano has a great rapport with dogs, and fills the niche of working with dogs new to the program. None of the members of TDRI are paid or reimbursed for their time or efforts. We are blessed to have a team compiled of dedicated and passionate volunteers, who truly are every day heroes.

Toronto Cat Rescue is a registered, no-kill charity run by volunteers. Toronto Cat Rescue’s main rescue partner is Toronto Animal Services (TAS). TCR focuses our efforts on rescuing from TAS to reduce the number of feline companion animals euthanized in the City of Toronto shelters. This initiative supports the city’s movement toward eliminating the euthanasia of any healthy or treatable cat housed in Toronto shelters. TCR rescues cats that are ill, in need of extra care or socialization, orphaned, geriatric, and/or do not thrive in the shelter environment. By rescuing these cats, treating them for any ailments they have, and preparing them for adoption, we are saving them from potential euthanasia and giving them a chance at having a forever home.
Toronto Cat Rescue is a cat care and rescue service appreciated by many for its commitment to saving and providing healthy cats for adoption. The process is efficient and transparent, with cats being spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Communication with the adoption team is described as kind and patient. Adoption fees are seen as affordable. Volunteers are praised for their dedication and organization.
