Where it all began! David Langille and Pauline Kaill opened Maritime Laminating and Drymounting in 1985, in Seabright, Nova Scotia. At that time, a few outwardly similar ‘alternative to framing’ products such as Perma Plaque and Plaquemount were available in larger centres to the west, but that was it, nothing in the Maritimes! David spent more than a year developing ‘Clearmount’, a superior, locally made product. A few years in.. Framers such as Maritime Frame It, Frame Plus Art and Hall of Frames (now Secord Gallery) became wholesale customers. Corporate clients, such as as Sobeys, the Province of Nova Scotia, NSLC, to name just a few, found many uses for Clearmount and the many other products and services being offered at Maritime Laminating and Drymounting Ltd. In 2005, the company moved their production facility to a new, more convenient studio on Joseph Howe Drive in Halifax. Presently David continues to enjoy producing high quality custom work for his many loyal customers. He combines his years of expertise with his well equipped shop to create one-of-a-kind displays, beautiful pieces to hang in homes and offices, or sometimes hundreds of identical awards for mass distribution.
