The mission of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Laurent – Mount Royal is to bring together, inform and defend the interests of its members. Its vision: become the location of choice for business people to meet as well as a recognized spokesperson in the area of economic development. Now in its thirty-second year of existence, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Laurent - Mount Royal has made much progress since its start in a basement on Sainte-Croix Avenue. Created in 1981 by Notary Claude Gratton, then president of Saint-Laurent Businessmen's Association, the Chamber of Commerce is today more active than ever. In 2012, the organization has taken a new turn by adding Mount Royal to its territory, thus becoming officially the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Laurent – Mount Royal. Nearly 300 people attended the official launch of the new Chamber which took place on January 15, 2013, at Mount Royal Town Hall.

Build and develop strong relationships with partners at home and abroad to become the focal point as a resource for both Irish and global enterprises, whether it be inward or outbound investment to / from Quebec. Ireland and Quebec share a rich history that far precedes the 1991 founding of the Montreal chapter. Because of its geographic location, Quebec was for many years a clearing house for Irish immigrants to Canada, many of whom arrived in Montreal in the 1840s. That the original flow between the two countries tended to consist of human capital can be readily seen in today’s Quebec.
