Home Base Housing is a not-for-profit organization that has been providing a range of supportive housing in Kingston since 1987. The housing programs of Home Base Housing are open to single adults with a range of life experiences and challenges. These may include homelessness, financial issues, substance abuse, mental health issues, developmental disabilities, head injuries, or physical disabiltiies. We offer housing opportunities and support to individuals, aged 16 and over, who are homeless or unable to remain in an unsafe situation. Our staff work to help tenants live independently, and with their approval, we welcome and encourage other professionals and family to become involved in the process. In addition to our Supportive Housing and Youth Services programs, Home Base Housing offers housing information, advocacy and outreach services through our Housing Help Centre at 540 Montreal St. We also run two emergency shelters: In From the Cold at 540 Montreal St. (moving on Monday, April 14. Open at 426 Barrie St until the night of April 13) and Lily’s Place at 333 Kingscourt Avenue. Mission/Vision Our Mission Home Base Housing develops and manages a range of safe, affordable housing, and emergency shelter and support services to meet the needs of youth, adults, and families at risk of homelessness in the Kingston area.
