In 1989, Christine Whitlock published her first directory of business women for the Hamilton-Wentworth and Halton regions. After the book came out, the women wanted to meet each other so she stared first luncheon meetings then later dinners and now every second month mini tradeshows where men can also attend. For over 30 years, Christine Whitlock has been producing communication packages for business and non-profits through her company CJ CREATIVE PRODUCTIONS INC. As a former police reporter and media journalist, she has her Magazine Journalism Certificate from Ryerson University. Christine also taught ‘HOW TO START A SMALL BUSINESS’ at Mohawk College for over 20 years where she had a number of the WWE members come out as her guests to promote their businesses.

The Veteran's Service League is a fun and enjoyable place to visit with friends. It features pool tables and various functions. The submarine races provide lots of laughs. The hall is great for holding functions of any kind, with a comfortable banquet setting and excellent service from the staff. The old place may not have been updated since the war, but the cold beer and super servers make it worth a visit. Some visitors have held reunions here and have had great experiences.

In 1972, a group of Aboriginal people established a temporary cultural centre, housed on Park St. South. The people felt there was a great need for a "Gathering Place" in the Hamilton community. After a lot of hard work and encouragement from the Secretary of State and the Aboriginal community, the "Letters Patent" were issued on June 19, 1973. The founding members were Stewart Victor Longboat, Helen Van Norman Probert and Elwood Cecil Montour.
The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre is praised for its friendly and helpful staff, beautiful experiences, and the various programs offered to the community. Many customers express gratitude for the assistance they have received. Some suggestions for improvement include a more welcoming environment and increased organization.
