The Maritime Heart Centre is a unique non-profit organization that was established in 1976 by a group of dedicated cardiac surgeons in Halifax to provide world class care to Maritimers with heart disease, and to advance disease prevention activities. Since then, we have grown in scope and we now offer preventive programs for adults and children as well as pre- and post-op counseling. But our core mandate remains the same: to help Maritimers live heart healthy lives. The Maritime Heart Centre works with a world-leading team of cardiologists, internists, cardiac surgeons, geneticists and other medical professionals to help diagnose and treat cardiac illness.
