Health and Sexuality Clinic du Plateau aims to eradicate "Sexually Transmitted and Blood Infections" (STBI), commonly known as MST, through prevention and screening. We want to teach clients how to protect themselves in STBI prevention. We also want to help the Ministry of Health in the eradiation of HPV as well as its different strains: genital warts and different cancers. CMC was founded in 2008 by Dre Danyèle Lacombe with the help of her administrative assistant Sylvie Rivet. Initially, the Clinic started with two doctors: Dr. Lacombe and Dr. Nina Paradis-Robert. As the Clinic wanted a paperless environment, electronic files were established from the beginning. Shortly after opening, an internist and a general surgeonjoined the team. They were followed by four more family doctors. In 2010, the Clinic joined with GMF Omni-Plateau (together with 2 other clinics) in order to serve patients better by offering last-minute appointments. Then, the Clinic hired a nurse in order to offer a wide range of services to patients. The Clinic is also meant to provide a teaching environment. Since 2010, it is part of the McGill University Teaching Center and welcomes each year a new medical student who comes in to do internship.
