The islands of Gatineau River Yacht Club (GRYC) have been home to sailors on the Chelsea reservoir for over thirty years. The Club's mission statement is "The Gatineau River Yacht Club (GRYC) is a family-oriented, volunteer-driven, co-operative, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting and encouraging active participation in the sport of sailing and other water-related recreational activities. All activities at the GRYC shall respect the environment and the ability of the Club's islands and of the Gatineau River to sustain those activities on a long term basis. Sailboats have been enjoying the "unique" winds of the Gatineau River since 1928 when the Gatineau Valley was flooded from Chelsea to Cascades as a result of the construction of the Chelsea Dam by the Gatineau Power Company. The river was actually quite wild before the dam was built, in fact, there was a seven metre waterfall (named Eaton's Chute) between the lighthouse point and the dock immediately across the river.

Big Mac Contracting is owned and operated by Tom MacIntyre. Tom has experience in all aspects of excavation, site grading & septic system design and installation. Our company expanded into the contracting business focusing on mini excavation to mid sized excavation projects as well as all sorts of landscaping needs. Big Mac Contracting is a full service onsite sewage system installer. Our team has extensive knowledge in residential sewage systems, as well as all other excavation and site servicing needs. We are operating a Terex TC125 Excavator, Kubota KX71-3 mini excavator on rubber tracks & a Terex PT-50 tracked skid steer. These are excellent machines for tight spaces and/or traveling across finished landscape leaving little to no damage to grass, concrete and asphalt. Our TC125 Excavator is only 8'2" wide and is able to dig to a depth of 15', it is also equiped with a dozer blade! The mini excavator (kx71-3) is capable of digging to a depth of 9'10" it also has a 60" dozer blade for leveling material. We have 24" tooth bucket, 24" ditching bucket with replaceable cutting edge and a 36" ditching bucket. We also have hydraulic post hole auger with 9" & 12" bit. It is equipped with hydraulic thumb for picking up items such as new trees, fence posts, rocks, etc. Our Pt-50 tracked skid steer is a great versatile machine with a width dimension of only 67". It will fit into almost any confined space with ease. We always use Spectra Precision Laser System to provide accurate grades on all our projects! Our 12000 lbs dump trailer is capable of handling and delivering all kinds of materials/aggregates to your home or job site. We offer courteous, professional service to all of our clients no matter how big or small the job is and we are always available for after sales service and support.
