Zion Gospel Assembly has its roots planted firmly in history, and is known as one of the longest enduring churches in North America, certainly among the Malayalee community. Zion Gospel Assembly was started in 1968 as a small prayer group in the apartment of Sisters Deenamma, Kunjumol and Nethy at 2001 Bloor Street West. It was led by a student of the Toronto Baptist Seminary who is well known to many in the local community ... Pastor George Thomas. In 1969 the prayer group was moved to the family residence of Br. Jose Kurian and his wife, Sis. Alice, and Sis. Thankamma (Punnoose), located at Saumon Ave in East York.
