Selfless service - SEVA - is how we operate Seva Thrift on a volunteer basis to benefit society. Donations are resold to support local charities. That means affordable shopping for people in our community. And our recycle-reuse mission means that items find a new home and stay out of the landfill. Seva Thrift Store is a fusion of pre-loved eastern and western fashion and household goods from around the world. Ours is an affordable, cross-cultural shopping experience that supports individuals and charities in the community where we live. We provide the local community with beautiful Indian garments so you can wow at your next special occasion. Allow another bride to wear the lehnga that you loved but will never unpack again - recycle to a new home and join our ''give where you live movement!'' Seva Thrift is for you. Whether you are looking to shop, volunteer or to donate - there's something here for you!
SEVA Thrift Store Society is appreciated for its amazing selection of clothes with new and stunning fabric, great prices, and sales. Customers praise the friendly and kind staff who provide helpful assistance. The store caters to various sizes and is a great place to shop for clothes for events.

The Surrey Hospice Society has been supporting our community for 25 years. This service includes providing social, emotional and spiritual support for individuals and their loved ones as they face life threatening illnesses, and ongoing grief support programs for children, teens and adults. There is a misconception that Hospices mainly care for the elderly who are close to the end of their lives. Not so. Our Palliative Care wards have too many 30, 40 & 50 year olds, concerned about leaving young children, teens and spouses devastated & wondering how they will carry on with life. Social workers & nurses call our volunteers a loving, compassionate neutral human presence. Medical staff has told us they could not do their job without the support of Hospice volunteers. The Surrey Hospice Society has 96 client volunteers - that’s one on one support in the Hospice Residence and on the Palliative Ward at Surrey Memorial Hospital as well as respite in homes. Hospice palliative care is about living fully to the very end of life with dignity and comfort. Then there are the staff and volunteers who work primarily with bereavement support. This can be one to one support or bereavement group support available to adults, adolescents or children experiencing a loss. Hospice would not exist without volunteers. They are the Heart & Soul of the Society and the work that we do. Their selfless acts of compassion and support touch lives in untold ways. It can be a gentle silent presence when painful emotions prevail, to answering the many calls that come into the office from distressed individuals looking for support, to coordinating our mail outreach program for the bereaved. In serving life many gifts are received in return. The volunteers constantly tell our Program Director, Barbara Morningstar how they have been transformed by this work and it has made them stronger and more compassionate human beings. Hearts become richer in profound ways.

The Oak Avenue Neighbourhood Hub evolved out of the Mission Board of Oak Avenue United Church in 2004. The purpose of the Hub is to provide a range of services for people in the community as part of a continuum of support for all ages. The hub serves as a place for other organizations and agencies to offer programs and fosters a unified vision of promoting healthy community development. Each program and service works in intentional cooperation with the Neighbourhood Hub to ensure that the needs of people in the community are being met in a way that is integrated and comprehensive. We want to engage the Cedar Hills community of Surrey more fully and provide opportunities for community development activities. Mission Statement.
