P.E.L. Recycling was the first company to collect compost from businesses, picking up our first apple cores and orange peels in 2005. Since then, we have seen an interest for recycling grow, to become an important part of corporate culture. It’s an exciting journey to be part of! When we first started working with Calgary businesses, some were hesitant to expand their recycling program beyond the old standbys of paper and beverage containers. Companies today understand that proper waste management is critical to the bottom line as well as the planet. Many have ambitions to reach zero waste and we’re eager to help them reach their goals. Most recently, we have been working on expanding our offerings to include taking Styrofoam – the only company in Calgary to do so!

Since 2004, the Electronic Recycling Association has been collecting and re purposing electronic and IT equipment. They have reduced landfill e-waste by several thousands of tones over the years and have donated heavily to many community groups, charities and other not for profit organizations. The ERA pioneered e-cycling in the province, years before government programs were even considered, and continues to this day in leading the industry through service and innovation. Not only was the ERA one of the first to recycle and reuse electronics but they have done it to this day without any help or assistance from any government tax funded programs. Services: Electronic Recycling Association also known as "ERA" offer pick-up services, comprehensive data security measures and subsequent reporting. ERA works to the highest ecological standards and they believe individuals and organizations should reuse wherever possible. The ERA's vision is to create a better community by reducing electronic waste and the negative impact it has on the environment by enabling the non-profit sector to achieve excellence by providing for their IT needs through computer donating and computer recycling. The company does this by reusing unwanted computers and related electronic equipment through recovery, refurbishment and computer donating services. Data security concerns from the public and corporations donating their old computers has to be a concern before choosing to whom to give old technology warns the ERA in a Calgary Herald Article. Making a difference in lives of poverty stricken Canadians and Canadian charities and non profit organizations.

The authentic foundation of Technotrash Alberta was laid in April of 2004 after the collapse of a core electronics recycler in Calgary, Alberta. Due to electronics manufacturer planned obsolescence, little accommodation for E-Waste recycling, and a growing technological economy, the industry required a reliable network of electronics recyclers. Technotrash Alberta Ltd. was therefore born by the DeSchover family with a vision. In September of 2005 the company was accepted into the Alberta Electronics Recycling Program, and Technotrash began accepting and processing discarded, surplus, obsolete and broken electronic devises from commercial, residential and industrial location. A loyal client base was broadened and forward growth has reported steady to date. Currently Technotrash Alberta Ltd. has a 99.985 recycle rate with its electronics, and is doing more than its share of preventing landfills from being filled with unnecessary items. At peak performance, the company supports 14 employees and can overcome industrial obstacles through it's sturdy management style and savvy outlook on recycling. The company envisions an imporved quality of environment, higher recyclable efficiency with elecrtonics, and a unified front as our society moves toward a trendy and green future.
