Victim Services of Peel is a not-for-profit, charitable organization founded in 1986 through the collaborative efforts of Peel Regional Police, Region of Peel Social Services, the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Social Planning Council of Peel. We work to provide immediate assistance to people in crisis across Brampton and Mississauga who have been victimized by crime or tragic circumstances. Many are victims of domestic abuse and other kinds of family violence. We also provide critical response services for people who have experienced traumatic events such as sexual assault, homicide, suicide, sudden death, traffic/fire fatalities and armed robberies.

Heart Lake United Church began in a home basement and then met from 1985 to 1993 in the Terry Fox School. In September 1993, we moved into our current church home on Sandalwood Parkway. We are a lively, informal congregation. Most people come to church wearing jeans or slacks. We have a combo of guitars, drum, flute and piano leading music. We seek to use all our senses in worship. We are open to encouraging people to live out their faith in a variety of ways and to bring their gifts and passions to the church. Therefore in the past, people have started groups for the bereaved, for divorcees, for single moms, for environmental issues, for justice for the poor etc. Each year the church hosts a variety of fun activities as fundraisers for the church, such as a Spring Carnival in May, a booth at the Brampton Fall Fair (September), a fashion show (April) and a craft show (November). We also have an excellent hall for sound and so we organize each year. Heart Lake United Church continues as a vibrant and caring congregation serving the local community.

The purpose of the Caribbean Children Foundation, founded in 2000, is to assist children in need from the Caribbean, suffering from life-threatening ailments for which no treatment is available in their country, to receive treatment at Hospitals in and out of Canada, such as, the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto. Absolutely no one is paid a salary or wages. TCCF is managed and run entirely by volunteers. Every penny goes directly to the cause.
