Cathy was born in London, Ontario, Canada. She works in a representational style in traditional oils on canvas. She will paint commissions from photo references. Cathy exhibits regularly in Galleries, juried shows and various other venues, primarily in Ontario Canada. She has had work in Galleries in France, The USA and Denmark. She curated an Exhibition of seven artists' work, including her own, that went to The Netherlands in 2009 to represent Canada. She has had 31 solo exhibitions and participated in over 260 group shows. She has won numerous awards including several public choice and juried awards. One of her paintings was selected for The Arabella Canadian Landscape competition, where she received an Honourable Mention in 2014. The County of Oxford commissioned a painting for Taiwan. Her work has also gone to the United States, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Australia and Japan. She lectures and teaches, paints murals and judges photography and art competitions. Her work is in numerous corporate, private and permanent collections. She is an elected member of the Ontario Society of Artists, The Woodstock Art Gallery and has been a member of their Art Gallery Advisory Committee. She is a past Chairperson for The Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre and a member of Norfolk Artsco in Simcoe and The Artists of Oxford and Oxford Creative Connections. An avid gardener, her work often includes some aspect of nature, and her love of colour and texture is very apparent in her work.
