Doors Open originated in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1990 as Doors Open Days, but quickly expanded nationwide under the overall coordination of the Scottish Civic Trust. It evolved into Scotland's contribution to European Heritage Days, launched in 1991 as a Council of Europe initiative, further spreading the event across Europe. By 1998, 19 million people had visited some 28, 000 sites in 44 countries. Doors Open Toronto was the first Doors Open event in Canada, arriving in 2000 under the auspices of Heritage Toronto. When you're game for fun!
Jack Pott's Thrill Zone is a popular destination for both kids and adults with a fondness for classic games. The arcade offers a nostalgic experience as it still uses tokens for games that include the original Mario Bros. and 19 in 1. Children particularly enjoy spending time there, while adults find it reminiscent of gambling. Prices are considered fair, and the arcade is a great place to spend a few hours. However, some visitors have noted issues with certain machines not issuing tickets or taking tokens.
