MOMENTUM is a young performing arts troupe that established itself out of Monica’s Danz Gyms’ Impakt Performance Team which started in 1995. Troupe members have studied and performed across Canada, the United States and Europe. Locally, members have performed during the 1999 Pan Am Games, The Festival of the Arts at The Forks, The Festival of Trees & Lights at The Winnipeg Convention Centre, The MTS Opening, The Junos held at The MTS Centre, and various school and sporting events throughout Winnipeg. MOMENTUM is comprised of performers who share a background of dance, gymnastics, and the aerial arts. The performance group is dedicated to bringing dance, acrobatics, and the circus arts of aerial fabric, hoop, and trapeze together in the spirit of exploration to create exciting new works for Winnipeg audiences in both indoor and outdoor venues. MOMENTUM co-directors and choreographers Monica Goermann and Liz Cooper believe in inspiring artistry, creativity, and self-confidence in their troupe members through collaboration, the use of new and innovative equipment and in highlighting individual talents.

Shelley Shearer School Of Dance is a family-oriented community praised for its excellent dance instruction and diverse range of classes for ages 2-Adult. Students have opportunities to compete and perform in local and national events. The high standards are evident in the faculty, costuming, choreography, and recitals. Teachers are described as knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and inspiring. The Twos & You Program is also a favorite among parents and children.
