The Greater Essex County District School Board’s Language Assessment and Resource Centre is a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) funded program. It is the assessment and referral centre for English language training programs. Included among these programs are: LINC – Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada and ELT – Enhanced Language Training. This service is offered free of charge to eligible new English language learners of Windsor, Essex County and Chatham-Kent Region. The Centre’s Language Assessors administer the Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA), Canadian Language Benchmarks Literacy Assessment (CLBLA), Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) and the Enhanced Language Training Placement Assessment (ELTPA) to prospective students.
