The Terra Nova Judo Club was founded in 2008 and is currently one of only two judo clubs in the city of Windsor that are registered with Judo Ontario. Terra Nova Judo has two certified Dojo Instructors (NCCP 2) and one Dojo Assistant in training (NCCP 1). Its name and logo are derived from the heritage of Sensei Parsons’ native Newfoundland and also serves as a tribute to Kano’s Japan. The logo depicts the outline of the map of Newfoundland, the provincial flag and cultural ties to the ocean via the lighthouse. The red circular background pays tribute to Dr. Kano and the Japanese flag for the invention and development of the sport of Judo. The logo was designed by Guy Morneau.
