The Guild Society in a non-profit charitable society which has been producing community theatre productions in Whitehorse for three decades. The primary mandate of the Guild Society is to produce three to four plays a season between September and May. The Guild's focus is to produce high-quality community theatre, involving local amateur actors and crew. A local producer is hired for the season. Generally, the intention is to produce a musical show as the last production of every second season. Local musicians are hired. The Guild seeks a balance between hiring and developing local professionals for positions such as director, where possible, and bringing in people from Outside who may provide a fresh perspective and enrich the entire arts community with their skills, talent and expertise. One or more of our productions may be co-produced with other groups. The Guild seeks to work with other performing arts groups in the community and share resources, skills and talent to cooperatively develop actors and crew and produce excellent entertainment. The Guild Hall facility can also be rented by other groups to stage independent productions.
