Bonny and her trusty assistant Biggles. Bonny Makarewicz was introduced to photography in High School when her father brought a manual Russian Zenit SLR camera. The Zenit was replaced with a Pentax as she shot her way to a diploma in Photojournalism and Nikon cameras soon became the tools of her trade as the staff photographer for the Whistler Question. Today Bonny shoots a diverse range of subjects due to her background in photojournalism. Her images have appeared in publications such as the New York Times and Europe as a freelance for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA). Her images appear regularly in the The Globe and Mail and Vancouver Sun and Province and her images are also in books such as Top of the Pass by Harbour Publishing. When she’s not shooting adventure, she’ living it on local trails, BC’s back country, on the Mediterranean or the Savannah.
