Keith is a native of Wallace, Nova Scotia. An area known for its historic sandstone. First teaching himself how to carve wood. He went on to learn about the art of bone carving from the Maori while travelling in New Zealand. Keith continues to hone his skills with wood, bone & stone. Keith received formal training in drafting from the College of Geographic Sciences in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, and obtained further training in engraving while working in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Since returning home Keith has picked up the tradition of making sandstone monuments from his uncle, whose family has worked with sandstone for generations.
