Owen Parnell, R.Ac. was raised and educated here in Victoria, and has studied acupuncture & healing martial arts since 2011. Pain relief, emotional stress and it’s physical manifestations are Owen's forte. With sharpened senses he provides pleasant treatments with great results. Owen practices free hand and where applicable, gentle shallow needle technique. He doesn’t view acupuncture treatment as a magic bullet for healing the body, but a tool to help the body heal itself. Outside of Owen’s work as a healer, he is blessed to live with his wife and young daughter. He has a background in visual arts, and maintains a variety of hobbies, including tai chi, percussion, and juggling.'

Island Hand Therapy Clinic was established in 1983, and has been growing steadily ever since, now with 3 locations in the Greater Victoria area. All the therapists at the clinic have a special interest in upper extremity injuries and conditions. On-going education, training and upgrading is a core part of each therapist's professional development. Each of our therapists have or are working towards post-graduate hand therapy certification. Island Hand Therapy Clinic is an open plan clinic, allowing clients to be part of a group. This promotes theraputic interaction and the formation of new friendships, which aids in dealing with the life changes brought about by an injury of medical condition affecting the hand or arm. Clients each receive individualized treatment and may be treated in an individualized setting if they so desire. Referrals Clients are generally referred to the clinic by medical doctors, including general practitioners, plastic surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, rheumatologists, general surgoens, etc. We also accept clients that are referred by other treatment facilities, such as hospitals, physiotherapy clinics, occupational therapists, etc. Clients may also make an appointment without a referral.
