I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT #2017227) with the CACFT and a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor (RCC-ACS #1406) with the BCACC. And I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC #11247463) with the CCPA. As well, I am an Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapist (ECFT) certified by ICEEFT, and a Perinatal Mental Health therapist (PMH-C) certified by PSI. For twelve years, I was employed as a clinical member of the provincial government’s child and youth mental health team for Victoria. Following that period, since 2006, I have operated a full-time private practice. In 2016, my practice was incorporated as McGee Therapy & Consulting Inc. In addition to my work as a clinical counsellor, therapist and supervisor, I am the lead counsellor and operator of the CRD Perinatal Counselling Program which serves new and expecting parents across Greater Victoria (the Capital Regional District). Using evidence-based methodologies (including CBT, EFT and EMDR) I take a systemic approach in my work, treating the whole individual within their family system. Trauma & loss are common themes in my practice. In my work with prenatal and postpartum parents, I treat all aspects of perinatal depression, anxiety or mood disorders, often with CBT and mindfulness techniques.
