Kitsilano Neighbourhood House (âKits Houseâ), member of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses BC, is a registered non-profit, charity organization dedicated to meeting the needs of those most vulnerable as well as providing an opportunity for everybody in our community to get together and be engaged. Kitsilano Neighbourhood House is the only Neighbourhood House on the Westside and serves many different communities like Kitsilano, Dunbar, Arbutus Ridge and Point Grey. The Kitsilano Neighbourhood House is a community treasure with knowledgeable and helpful staff, passionate about providing programs and services for people of all ages and backgrounds. The rental hall is convenient for various occasions and the food in the restaurant is delicious, though be cautious with the delivery service used. The organization does much for the community and evokes strong positive feelings.

The Looking Glass Foundation story began in 2002. At that time, there was little available in the way of appropriate, accessible care for young people with eating disorders. Community programs were overburdened, hospital admissions entailed long wait lists, and families seeking residential care were forced to find it outside of Canada at tremendous expense and personal sacrifice. With a passion only those touched by the illness can know, a small group of parents joined forces to create the Looking Glass Foundation for Eating Disorders â a charity dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of eating disorders, improving access to care, and responding to the desperate need for new programs and services. Since then, the Looking Glass Foundation has helped nearly a thousand individuals and families affected by this devastating disease.
