Dr. Karen Nordahl graduated from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C. with a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology (Physiology) in 1987, and completed her medical degree at the University of British Columbia in 1989. She currently practices family medicine and obstetrics at BC Women’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Early in her medical career, Dr. Nordahl discovered that there was an enormous amount of information and misinformation surrounding exercise during pregnancy. Women who remained active during pregnancy had very little information available to them. Hence the "birth" of Fit to Deliver.
