newSTART has been providing employment supports and services to women for over seventeen years. newSTART is a partner with M.O.S.A.I.C. in Vancouver Northeast and with GT Hiring Solutions in Burnaby to support women dealing with violence and abuse issues who are who are returning to work and in need of specialized services. As part of the Employment Program of British Columbia, newSTART offers women workshops in personal development, employment related skills, unpaid work placement, access to community based resources and other supports to prepare for employment, educational upgrading, post-secondary education and/or training opportunities.
